Lifetime Montessori School Harvest Festival To Feature Hayrides, Fun, Tacos, Games & Live Music

Lifetime Montessori School's autumn fundraiser, voted 'Best Preschool' in Santaluz, San Diego, is set with all proceeds to benefit teacher development at the annual American Montessori International conference next February in Austin, TX.

"This is such a fun event," Kristin Edwards, M.Ed., and co-founder of LMS, said. "Our students just love it! They come dressed up and hit the face painting and hayrides immediately. Then, they line up for the hayride again—and again. After that, they get to dance and play instruments with our live group.

"After that, there's food, namely all-you-can-eat tacos. For dessert, there's everyone's favorite—the Cauldron Cakewalk. Parents and kids can win a whole cake, pie or tray of treats. It's a blast!"

As a result of this event, Lifetime Montessori has been able to send a dozen teachers to the four-day national conference. There, they review specific teaching skills while learning new ways to instill knowledge and curiosity in toddlers, preschoolers and elementary students via workshops.

"Motivating our teachers and assistants by bolstering their skills is a key commitment of the school," Edwards continued. "Every dollar in profit that a parent spends for entertaining their child at the festival is reinvested towards teaching their child in the classroom. It makes me very happy to empower our teachers with new skills that are immediately introduced to our students."

Tickets to the Harvest Festival are $15 and include unlimited hayrides and food. Additionally, each child's ticket includes five 'game card stars.' Game card stars allow each child to play the many games offered at the 'Ghoulish Carnival.' It's a delight. Parents can buy more game cards at their leisure and parents of students can simply RSVP and have charges placed on their account.

The American Montessori International conference is an annual event where roughly 800 participants hone their teaching skills. Sergey Brin, co-founder of Google and a former Montessori alumnus, and educators Sir Ken Robinson, Ph.D., and Daniel Pink have addressed teachers in recent years.

Two of next February's workshop topics will discuss 'Supporting the Dyslexic Child' and 'Integrating Anti-Bias Education into Our Thinking and Practice.' Ross W. Green, Ph.D., originator of 'Collaborative & Proactive Solutions' and former faculty member at Harvard Medical School will be the keynote speaker at the conference.

Lifetime Montessori School is an affordably priced private school located north of Rancho Penasquitos. Serving 170 students aged 18 months to nine years, Lifetime was recently awarded as one of San Diego's 'Top Three Preschools' by a national organization. The school adheres to Dr. Maria Montessori's century-old methodology focused on creating lifelong learners.
